I've lost all respect for Activision after their mw3 decision

Now wether i read this wrong or it means what i think it means i wont buy and play another cod again or game.. Elite-members get the first map pack jan 24th - this is where i lost respect in next sentence..
Non-elite will get the first maps in March.

    Link

2 months for the elite to familiar themselves with the layouts giving them an advantage. hardly fair. fuck activision.

Woah, even by Activision's standards that's taking the piss - I'd assumed (since I'm not really into CoD Multi) that Elite basically gave you lots of information on the MW3 equivalent of Battlelog and discounts on the DLC - I didn't realise it'd give such a big time span between releases.

Being devils advocate, if you are willing to pay extra for Elite, why shouldnt you be given some special treatment. No point paying for it otherwise.

Thats some special treatment though maybe a week or 10 days yeah fine on top of price drop and maybe some exclusive content but that takes the piss imo.

bit shitty from activision but im kind of with doogzz, while i dont agree with this kind of piss taking you could smell bullshit all over the "elite" thing as soon as it was announced. you'd be better steer clear of any DLC and just play the game as it is.

Not surprised really. They can take their DLC and stick it where...oh hang on I'm an Elite subcriber.

I have completely changed my mind getting MW3 after the Xbox 360 magazine put a list of cheating way to win a match or to annoy individual people, also in the same magazine, they were talking about what game actually rip people off, and one of the name that came up was MW3, so the cost of the game itself will reach over ?100 before the year is out especially most games only cost ?35-?40 that is it

That depends how you look at it, I could buy the game in 10 months second hand for ?10, not buy any DLC and sell it again for ?9, it's cost me ?1 then. Someone else could buy it new, buy all the DLC etc etc and it might cost close to ?100 but it doesn't mean you need to shell out ?100 to play it.

Ive no objection to gamers getting their moneys worth (or more correctly, gamers getting good value for money)..

Activision loudly announced that Elite members would get DLC & extra stuff, and much liek a business, they will prod people into buying the extra (or upselling)

A lot of people cried foul when certain activision studios got closed due to poor sales and shoddy games (likely the cause of said sales).. Maybe these extra monies going towards Elite are keeping some of those more midling studios going for slightly longer....

Im sure the people who paid for the DLC season pass thing for Gears3 didnt complain when it was available for all at the same time, but perhaps this is a further start to encourage season pass (or extended DLC) to also include time release within that range too.
EA tried it with its sports games, but 3 days just isnt enough.. Had it been 2 months? hot cakes. (but equally, might have been seen as a poorly reviewed "demo" which puts off non-SP customers)

Given the number of players who enjoy MW3, whom spend a lot of time with it, their perceived value is greater than those who dont like it.. Horses for courses and all that..

If, when the update(s) land, its rather like Dirt3 (CANT PLAY THIS WITHOUT DLC message screens) then it becomes a separate matter... If it runs with few apparent differences, then its all good and dandy..

2 months waiting? fine by me!

gears 3 has been plagued with problems regarding the seasons pass.
when the dlc is released you have to be very careful from where you download it from. the first one cost me 800 pts when it should have been free, all because i downloaded from the marketplace instead of waiting for the prompt.
then a few days later they gave away the new maps for free! so people who bought the dlc only bought an upgrade to horde (command post and rockets on silverback) and some new cheevos. so was that worth 800 msp! (you decide).
then they had the next one which if you had the pass you couldnt download it as microsoft hadnt sorted out the free download so if you wanted to play it early or tue same time as evryone else you would have to pay for it again 1200 msp.
its only on the third dlc have they got it right. but i think that this one was the last that the seasons pass got you for free.

i think the biggest kick in the teeth from epic was putting the seasons pass on discount over xmas. nothing better than a seasons greetings for all the loyal gears players that have supported them
