One exciting bit of news that was mostly overlooked in the deluge of game trailers and motion controller hype was the addition of Last.fm to the Xbox 360. Once the service launches later this year (free to all Live Gold members), the full functionality of its browser based counterpart will be available through the dashboard, allowing you to do things like:
- Compile custom playlists, share them with your friends and even listen to the same playlist all at once via a “Radio Party” option. This should be a cool one.
- Create your own station.
- Find additional info about your favourite bands like photos, upcoming tour dates and similar artists.
In any case, it should alleviate my need to make so many custom playlists for different game types on my ipod, well as long as you are able to access your Last.fm playlists while in game, a feature that has not been announced but must surely be coming... maybe... please?
