    Post Xbox 360 Console Bans

    Hacking is bad kids, M'kay....

Microsoft have recently announced that once again the ban Hammer is Raised, and they're coming down hard on anybody who is found to have a hacked/Modified Firmware on there System.

While Many Hackers & modder's, Feel that there Firmware updates Are safe, Microsoft are known for "Finding out"
As they have done numerous times before...

The last mass cull was shortly after the Halo 3 Beta, with drabs & drizzles here and there since..
But with COD MW2 just around the corner, could Microsoft have another Mass cull up there sleeves.

After all, after the Halo 3 ban, Console Sales rised in relation to about 50% of those banned, Getting a new/2nd Xbox 360 for online play..

Let the Marketing conspiracy theories begin...

As you may have read online, we’ve been actively banning consoles from Xbox LIVE that have been modified to play pirated games. Our commitment to combat piracy and support safer and more secure gameplay for the more than 20 million members of our Xbox LIVE community remains a top priority. All consumers should know that piracy is illegal, and that modifying their Xbox 360 console to play pirated discs, violates the Xbox LIVE terms of use, will void their warranty and result in a ban from Xbox LIVE. The health of the video game business depends on customers paying for the genuine products and services they receive from manufacturers, retailers, and the third parties that support them. This would also be a good time to remind you that the warranty on an Xbox 360 console is not transferrable and if you purchase a used console that has been previously banned, you will not be able to connect to Xbox LIVE.

When I went on a snowboard holiday (Lapland = awesome country) this January I met a load of Finns who’d brought their modded xbox with ‘em and the full rock band kit, I was amazed that it worked so well. I couldn’t play with ‘em for too long though, the GF was getting v angry.

On topic though, excellent, bad ‘em all! I pay for my games!

microsoft should of employed the same technology that sony uses, no one to this date has cracked the ps3, that is some achievement in this day of age of hackers n crackers, i know people who are openly playing mw2 since 3rd of novemeber and forza 3 week before release and nearly every title that comes out, they seem to get away with it and it does piss you off when we buy originals that support those people who made the game, if its a good game you dont mind the price, its when the game is complete rubbish that you feel you have been ripped off, so then there is always excuses as to why people pirate, the excuse of `its a backup` is totally lame, i have games in mint condition that last forever, so i applaud microsoft in its stance, if people have to buy another console then why should microsoft always get the flak?

    I agree,

The 360 was cracked a week before release.
and years later the PS3 is still unscathed

Is he running a legit copy or a cracked one? MS can recognise cracked ones and will only ban illegal copies or modified consoles

that i dont know, he's always bragging about getting games early etc....
i know the games are copies, as he hasnt bought a game in like 2 years!!!!! and has played everything.

The words tosser spring to mind but i think that might be jealousy. But having said that i'd rather not be banned...

Have pity on the guy who got hold of Halo 3 a week early and got his console banned until 9999!

Just smacks of M$ being dicks banning people with legit copies of games who just got theirs early!

They seen to have stopped that now though...
