Thread: 360 Update - New Features now avaialble

Microsoft have just released the latest new features for your Xbox 360.

In case you?ve been off the grid for the past few months and don?t know what is in this update,
allow me to give you the some of the highlights: Facebook, Zune Video, Twitter and Last.FM.

Here is how to find ?em: Facebook and Twitter will appear automatically on your dashboard in the new My Community channel, Zune Video is in the Video Channel and Last.FM will be found under the Music Channel.

Assuming you have the latest Xbox 360 system update from Xbox LIVE, these new features will automatically appear sometime over the next few hours. Availability of these features will vary by region.

Should be quite good. Will check it out tonight.

Can't wait to check this out when I get hone from work. But could someone please explain to me what in the blue he'll are zune and last.fm? I wanna use them but don't even know what they are? Hope there is a future update so can tweet mid game without having to go back to dashboard!

Zune is Microsofts portable music\movie\game player type thing you can get them in HD now and with cool games like Viva Pinata are on their way.

Last fm is a music thing that plays tunes you like and allows other people to see what your into. Hide that britney album we all have

Yeah Zune is really only applicable if you own a Zune (Microsofts wannabe iPod)

Last.FM is a big online directory that streams songs, you chose the type of music or "Channel" and it will create your own channel where it will continue to suggest songs that are your style.

It gets more precise the more you use it, and you can love or hate songs, which then give it more detailed information about the exact type of music you like.

The Xbox version works very much like the website Last.fm - Listen to free music with internet radio and the largest music catalogue online
But it's worthwhile creating an account on Last.fm - Listen to free music with internet radio and the largest music catalogue online so it can read your Library from your PC etc, and then when you go onto the xbox you
1. wont have to mess around creating an account
2. will already have a decent mix of music you like in your channel

Like everybody said Zune = iPod, their new Zune HD is streaks ahead of iPod touch though, M$ never bothered releasing it outside of North America though, like most things.

As for Zune Video Store, thats just the Video Marketplace rebranded with a few more videos.
