Thread: New negative XP hack on MW2 – Be Alert!

Everybody thinking of playing MW2 may want to leave it a little while, and I’ll tell thee why...


According to the IW forums there is a new hack which when deployed allows the greifers to take away massive amounts of XP from their opponents, reseting you to rank 1 (it does not remove prestige) at the end of the game.

I was 2nd prestige rank 50, now im 2nd rank 1. everyone else in my group is reset as well.
to add to the weirdness:

all of my guns, camos, challenges,attachments, killstreaks, all still set as I had them in my Custom slots.
BUT when i went to customize, they were all locked as if I didnt have them.

So we decided to go play a match, I can rank up and everything, its as if I never got to 2nd. Rank 50.

This Needs to be addressed, or else almot everyone will eventually have their stats reset.

Yeah he can’t spell or punctuate properly but this guy has been seriously f****d over by some hackers here. If this does happen to you then switch off your 360 as soon as you see negative XP come up to prevent from saving on your profile.

Moral of the story..... Dont play COD its shit and full of pricks!

Yeah Joe is kinda right, now I’ve learned to exploit elevators and gut underneath certain levels the game does become slightly easier lol!

I’m still going for 70 though and have got my taste back for COD now.

Wow that sucks badlyfor them! This surely cant be super common though.

The problem is, Someone can do it...

That someone will, in time, tell someone else, Word will get around, and before long, rank-resets will be as common as the Javelin Glitch soon became.

Bloody 'ell. As if I don't level up slow enough as it is, lol. Cheers for the heads up, BK. I was kind of going off MW2 anyway, so I'll probably just stay away.

Yeah levelling up can sometimes be a slog, I managed to get from 59-61 last night in about 4 games, unbelievably good streaks. I will probably keep playing but only until I get to 70, then just stay there and play occasionally. Unless I get hit with this glitch, in which case, no more MW for me...

The Technique is known as "JTAG"

There's a 360 modding method using this JTAG System, which allows hombrew loading etc, and those in the know can alter code directly, meaning some seriously fucked up results.

Most people using this JTAG method would set up a game, with 5,000 points per kill, slapping it on Rust and running wild.
soon enough people would rank, prestige and hit 10th prestige in no time.

However some evil soul, has decided to reverse this, making -5,000+ points per kill.
start the game, let people join, and then not kill them.

As the opposing team inevitably starts to rack up kills, there rank drops at an alarming rate, enough to Zero a lvl 70 inside 1 game.

So, If you enter a game, and your enemy just runs around letting you kill them, DONT DO IT.

IW are aware, they're workign on getting round this JTAG method, but they will be unlikely to be able to help those who have lost rank or punish those who have gained rank

I remember one game where I was talking to a 10th Prestige and he'd played with a guy offering 4 Million XP per kill.

Thats a prestige for every kill.

I've been playing MW2 a lot. 'Got made redundant from my job at Christmas - Unemployed': a lot.

...and I've seen so many hacks with this game so far. Unlimited Grenades, Javelin bombs, playing dead. Now this.

Unfortunatly, the game is brilliant. Lots of people (millions in fact) want to play and there's going to be a small contingency of impatient players that will feck around with the game until they find the cracks.

Imagine if they concentrated their focused boredom into curing disease, helping Haiti sufferers or inventing a Mega Robot Godzilla. Then the world would be a better place.

But until then. We're stuck with the kids, the arses, and the unemployed hacking the game to shreds. In small doses mind you. The knowledge of this hack shouldn't, in this case, be a 'Z'-word style infection spreading from player to player. These things get nuked from orbit by the devs before it becomes too game breaking, when it becomes this serious.

I'm going to keep playing. But cheers for the heads up. I've spent a long long time levelling up the old fashioned way, for it all to disappear in the blink of an eye.
