Toy Soldiers - out now on XBLA

The Xbox Live Block Party, has begun, and Today we see the Arrival of Toy Soldiers on Xbox Live Arcade.

Toy Soldiers is an evolution of the Tower Defence Genre.
Not only allowing high quality strategical gameplay, But also 3rd person action as you take control of your World War Warriors in real time blowing to pieces the oncoming toy Soldiers.
The game is for 1-2 players, both on and offline.

You can Download the Trial of Toy Soldiers or purchase the complete game for 1200 from HERE

For anyone that doesnt already know, The Block Party Event is to build up to the release of Microsoft Games room (A virtual Arcade for your Avatar) Due for release on the 24th of March.
Anybody who Purchases Toy Soldiers, Scrap Metal (released 10th March) and Perfect Dark (release = 17th March) and go's on to Download the Free Gamesroom will receive 400 as well as a Month Free Xbox Live gold Membership.

Not bad for a Freebie, Especially considering the high quality of Toy Soldiers, Scrap Metal and Perfect Dark, Which are strong contenders for the best Strategy Defense (toy Soldiers), Vehicular warfare (Scrap Metal) & FPS (Perfect Dark) Games on XBLA.

Aye, its different.. would like to know how that facefuck integration comes into it.. just shows a map of differeing colours?

not sure about the game though, did the trial through to the end & ok, its tower defence (a genre l'll do without thanks kindly) but the ability to take control of the guns is a good idea, as is the plane flight...
It looks like theres avatar clothing unlockable doll fans.

Interesting bug I might have found though - went to the facebook map page, & left it on whilst I typed the top bit of this out (few minutes), it allowed to me return to the menu but then the controls wouldnt work, yet the music happily continued playing.. had to guide & power off to get out of it (might be me 360 going, but I dunno)

Anyway, as for the block party thing, its a total of 3200 points to get 400 back? - (1200 * 2 + 800) & dont forget that whilst Games Room is free, many of the games wont be. (thats £23.80 on xbl price fans..)

Yeah the come-back (400 + 1 month Gold, isnt great)

But if Like me you would be getting all 3 anyway, it's a nice added bonus.

As for the Arcade (Games Room) all being well I'm gonna whore that to hell and back, I "Might" Be in the position to get every machine I can on launch day....

so, who fancies an arcade party at Obie's

Played the trial for a few minutes but didn't enjoy it much. Maybe a longer go will convince me.

Had an hour on it yesterday and quite enjoyed it.

I'm a fan of tower defense games anyway, of which, There's not many on the 360.

It well worth the purchase though for strategy/defense fans.
Though one annoyance, is, that the learning curve seems quite steep, and you have to be using a tower whenever your not placing a tower to get funds up quickly and enemies down quicker.

anyone on tonight, about 7 fancy a go on multiplayer
