Thread: MS Announces new Xbox 360 250GB

How epicly bad ass does that look. Apart from it being Smaller, lighter and considerably quieter it also houses a 260 GB hard drive mounted at the rear and internal 802.11N wireless networking.

The inclusion of the intergrated Wifi fixes one of my major complaints of the current model and also one of the advantages the PS3 held with its inclusive 802.11b/g. Thats right PS3 cocksmokers how do you like you 54MB wireless i think i'll have shiny 108MB thanks very much!!

Other equally cool stuff comes in the form of the rear console connectivity. Thats right connections can be cool especially when it optical out!!!!!

Sitting alongside 5 USB ports (2 front 3 back) is an AUX port for connecting accessories such as the Xbox 360 Kinect sitting above the ethernet port, 1 HDMI port and the AV connector found on the older consoles shame its still only 1 HDMI though

*Update yes it required the xbox transfer kit to move the data from your exisiting hard drive. Naughty M$
The side view shows the new aggresive looking asthetics quite at odds with the cuddly round face of Kinect but it does look fantastic and straight from the alienware range. The lower side is dominated by the large grill that should help keep the temperature down slightly as the revision is cooled by the 1 fan as opposed to the old consoles dual fans.

I am getting one and as this model is on sale today in Yankee land for $299.99 - for the same price as the Xbox Elite and due for launch over here on July 16th for hopefully the same.

Certainly does look cool with all the new technology around, perfect for home cinema homes

I will agree that it does look good but....you can't move the hard drive from your exsisting 360! Oh no, that is all to easy!!

MS are no mugs when it comes to us 'Joe Public' parting with their hard earned cash!!

You have to purchase a Hard Drive transferral device (i've no idea what it's called or that is the correct terminology) So you buy a new 360S and then have to purchase another device to transfer it all over!! Money, Money, Money (Uncle Bill will be rubbing his hands!)

To be honest, i'd stick with what i've got for now - wait for all the problems to surface & hopefully get sorted out and see if the price comes down or part of a package! Sorry but MS are really good at 'sticking it' to the consumer and their pocket!

I love my 360 and if money wasn't an issue i'd be first in the queue!

But i agree that Microsoft are money grabbers, i didnt realise til u pointed it out how i was going to transfer the data, coz the hard drive is different, oh dear hope my xbox dont die just yet

I will be sticking to my 'old' 360 as well.

Cant afford a new one when there is nothing wrong with the one I got, at the moment at least.

Must admit the black would look much better with my set-up.........

I'm seriously considering doing the BK Argos Switcharoo™ next week since my Arcade unit I bought in December is making some horrible grinding noises, sounds very much like one of the fans is stuck...

That new beasty sure does look nice!

Argos Switcharoo coming as well
