Microsoft have release more information regarding its competitor to apples Iphone at this weeks GamesCom expo in Ze motherland.
Microsoft have created a platform to download and play games,
browse the internet and connect to xbox live services. You'll be able to view your friends list, send and receive messages, view xbox live content, download demo's and score gamer points up to 200 for a full game that are added to your live account.
Your Avatar is set to be the centre of the platform providing your online presence in a similar manner as it does on xbl. Additionally Microsoft have stated that app or Gadgets will be availble in a similar manner as Android or Iphone apps but with a twist like the flashlight app that puts your Avatar on the screen holding a light. The level uses the accelerometer to tell you if something is flat, but also puts the Avatar up on the screen swaying back and forth as you tilt the phone. Cool or what.
Perhaps the biggest plus is a departure from Microsoft usual policy on Idie development. They wont be holidng the Platform in its usual manner allowing free developement and optional xbl feature support. Devs dont need to submitt their work for MS certification and what they make they keep. Well done M$ brownie points at last.
M$ has been dropping some big names that are behind the platform...
Halo wavepoint will be included as standard providing access to all its xbl features including the video feeds and intel updates along with career tracking
Guitar Hero and Castlvania have also been mentioned but with no further info available atm.

Little is known about the actual hardware and how it compares to its competitors but as a gaming platform it will always be hampered by its small size. Can you see Phone 7 providing competition to Nintendo's DS or the PSP for all intense and purposes this is as close to a mobile xbox as we are likely to get. I can see it being a welcome distraction used to check the marketplace for new content and video's, see what you lot are up to and maybe the odd game but i dont think i'll be trading my DSi in.
