Fans of GTA will be happy about this..
Personally, Ill prefer it next week the an initial teaser trailer for GTA 5 is released (announcements of intention to do something? fuck off)
Whilst GTA4 graphically looked impressive, and the fictional New York brought a charm to the game, I personally thought the characters where (mostly) the detraction to the game.. I couldn't give a shit about some immigrant Russian & his fat cunt of a cousin.
But the potential for stories with GTA4 was huge, resulting in 2 expansion packs that grew 2 minor characters that previously existed within the main game's story and actually fleshed out the other stories at the same time.
GTA4 from announcement to Release was a long time, (2006 - 2008 If I remember correctly), and this might ultimately be similar (perhaps a dying swansong for the 360/PS3?), but then again, they don't have to write the engine this time & can utilise learnt progress since then.
Will we be seeing a return to a previously visited city? San Andreas? Vice City? London? (yeah, they dropped the naming ball on that!) Or someplace new?
Does the logo give any hints?

Usual lettering for GTA, unusual V with the FIVE in what feels to me to be a 'gang' style logo. Whats with the green V? (Roman numeral 5 btw) Is it money? two well balanced flower pots? Perhaps a metaphor for the next Dan Brown novel?
Whilst you think about the possibilities, heres the sorta equivalent trailer from GTA4 :
Did the trailer show much that ended up in GTA4? Yeap.. theres still a number of places I recognise..
Lets wait & see for the 2nd of Nov.
