New XBOX to be revealed at E3?

According to un named sources MCV have stated that the follow up to the 360 and PS3 will be unveiled at this years E3. Also due is the launch details for the wii U platform including prices and software line ups. If and its a big if Microsoft did discuss its successor i would be surprised if it was more than a quick Tech Demo and some Spec's to take some attention of Nintendo and would set the console up for a release late 2013 just in time for Halo 4 part 2!

    Nope...
Much like they did with Harry Potter - it means we 'stretch it out to get more money.. but theres lot of action (they meant filler) to make it go to the run times'

Like the HP film, expect lots of meandering sitting around looking at each other and more crap.. But then again, thats not going to upset HP fans, nor halo fans.. (probably a huge cross-over crowd)

Im not sure they'll do a halo4 part 2.. a Halo 5 yeap.. or perhaps (if they hadnt already done it), a SP only halo anthology... All Halo (FPS) Games, one Bulging Package.
Would be easy to make as a launch title Im sure.. and perfect as a teaser for Halo:The Next Generation.

With so many of current games coming to a 'natural' end, You have to wonder what marvelous new rehashes of games can be made? Perhaps a yearly release of a game where a plumber jumps over houses and silents jumps on their heads! I'd call it, Super Assassins Galaxy!

If if we're looking at codemasters, how about another racing game? doesnt matter what it involves, it'll just be generic, cookie-cutter produced that entices the player to buy DLC.

i think we are going to see alot more rehashes, original ideas seem to be very thin on the ground. I see there is a silent hil hd set coming, metal gear and tony hawks hd.

On another note this forum is turning into a cross of readers digest/daily mail. a mixture of annoyed and angry comments, always looking for the negative, people wittering trying to make themselves sound more intelligient than they actually are and just looking like a knob, and idiotic comments that 9 times out of 10 make no sense whatsoever or just completly miss the point.

maybe its just a january thing - does strange things to people.

i did think that once i had posted it. just having a bad day i think. i still love you all - i must as i am more interested in seeing what you lot have to say than people i know in the flesh, family etc. my wife calls you lot my "imaginery friends" i have assured her that you all do exist, in some cases though that might not technically be true.

Blimey we are seeing a lot of good games on Xbox 360, but to think we going to have to buy another Xbox again with just a little extra power, it is basically a xbox 360 that got all the extra hardware

Well, Mark Ross' cynicism is legendary - I take it with a dash of salt and shrug it off. When questioned (using voice) he will admit to looking forward to games and liking them, it just doesn't seem to carry over onto the site. I think you're probably right in that its the post Christmas blues, it'll fade.

I'd disagree with the HP Deathly Hallows example- it can be argued as being a hybrid of commercialism and creative integrity. I've been told by HP diehards that it is pretty faithful to the book, which is very long and would either make a bloody long film, or a hack and slashed shorter version where 50% of the book is discarded (See the film versions of Dune or Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy for good examples)

Besides, when it comes to originality, I've come up with loads of good games concept, my three greatest are:

Harvey Keitel's Murderous Muppet Mansion - The Greatest Crossover Ever in the latest Muppet escapade! Harvey Keitel plays himself as a deranged mansion owner who traps the Muppets in the titular house - play as either Kermit, Miss Piggy, Ralf, Kermit's douchebag cousin/son whatever whose name nobody can remember, as the struggle to outwit the crazy Keitel and escape the house before it claim's all of their lives. Featuring Steve Buscemi as Fozzy Bear.

Sean Bean: The Game™ - Relive all of The Bean's greatest roles in glorious HD! Try the exciting New Game + Double Good where you can play out fantastical What If scenarios where Sean doesn't die in every single role. Featuring Steve Buscemi as Sean's conscience.

Shank! The most violentist, prisoneist videogame to ever hit the Nintendo Wii! Take control of 'Stabby' McGee, the newest inmate at HM Shithole as you fight for supremacy in E wing. Trade, barter and wager with fellow cons and upgrade your arsenal of improvised blades, including the fabled shiv of Dave Marmaduke, the double bladed "Sir Stabalot". Utilising the Wiimote and Nunchuck, experience the savage glee of grabbing a man by the shoulder and repeatedly stabbing him in the spine and kidneys using a screwdriver! Earn stab combos to unlocks dynamic game changing perks like "Knives to See You" and "Hate To Cut And Run". Featuring Steve Buscemi as Dave Marmaduke.

I have a feeling it will be more than a 360 with a little extra power. If you look at the obvious power increase from the xbox\PS2 to the current gen just the resolution alone is huge.
