Play demo, get free stuff for Mass Effect 3!

Wotcha punks! It's been a while since I've posted any news, totally my fault, I was distracted by a shiny piece of foil glinting in the sunlight. Oh! There it is now...so shiny, hypnotic even...

Anyways, this might interest so of you chaps and chapesses... EA are doing a cross-promotional unlock scheme for Mass Effect 3 or Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning. I won't bore you telling you about Mass Effect 3 since its going to be the best thing ever and if you don't buy it you are dead to me, but I will jabber briefly about Kingdoms of Amalur - its an upcoming RPG with some pretty good names attached: Ken Rolston, lead designer of The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is the game designer, acclaimed sci-fi and fantasy author R.A. Salvatore is writing the story and peddler of 'collectibles NOT toys' and sometime illustrator Todd McFarlane helping out with the look of the thing. Could be worth a punt?

    Here's a rather vague trailer!

    For those interested in FACTS:

If you play the KOA:R demo, you unlock the following:
Exclusive Todd McFarlane-designed Reckoner Knight Armor for Mass Effect 3 (install the demo)
The Powerful Chakram Launcher for Mass Effect 3 (complete the demo)
If you purchase KOA:R, you get N7-inspired Shepard?s Battle Armor for use in Reckoning.

And if you play the ME3 demo, you get the Omniblade Daggers for use in Reckoning (redeemed in-game).

To be honest, it seems a bit lopsided - but since they know ME3 is going to sell like crack-infused crumpets, it makes sense to drum up attention for KOA:R by adding more ME3 unlocks to it's demo. Me, I'll play it - I love free stuff, except for that goat's skull full of cottage cheese that someone on the site thought it'd be funny to send me.

i downloaded it at lunch and gave it a quick 5 minutes play

its very WoW-esque is all i can say. the only thing that slightly erked me was anything you can interact with is brightly glowing it might be slightly toned down when outside in the countryside but when your in a cave its alittle obvious what your supposed to do.

you get to muck about with the character customisation. male/female. human/elf. plus about 7 different classes to choose from granting different bonuses.
one playthrough is supposed to take 45 minutes so multiple plays is not too bad if you want to test the different abilities

Just finished the Kingdoms of Amalur demo. It's a fun game and it's well worth trying the demo out. And you get those lovely ME3 bonuses too!
